Harvest

I looked at my harvest yesterday morning.  Here it is (or will be).  Maybe.

One tiny cucumber.

One little tomato.

Aaand ... that's it.

Here's a look over my garden domain, from the platform down a hill to the garage.  In June, I plopped a few cukes, a few tomato plants and a few basil plants into the ground.  I didn't know at the time, but I had lyme disease.  I did know that I was exhausted!   It was all I could do to dig holes and put plants in.  No soil prep.  No fertilizer.  No nothing.

Most of the plants died, but some of them hung on and struggled through the season, and soon I'll harvest my lonely cuke and tomato.

  1. But what GOOD tasting veggies they will be! Don't feel too badly, I busted my butt in our garden this year and for a small handful of tomatoes, two cups of peas, some zucchini and a turnip. Would have been better off just letting it go.
Sorry to hear your dealing with Lyme Disease, hope your able to get the treatments you need.

  2. I hope you're feeling better too. Lyme's is nothing to sneeze about, it's horrible. I had it back a few years and every once in awhile will have a flare up and back to the doc I go. Take care of yourself and enjoy your goodies in a nice salad. You'll enjoy it and it's all yours.
    Take care and God Bless!!
