Sweetness and Light
I love discovering new old things on this property, but it's not all sweetness and light. I was mowing over the future orchard area for the first time yesterday and the mower found this. It used to be a tomato cage. I thought I had found all of them hiding in the tall weeds, and now maybe I have. After a short operation, the mower is fine.

Doesn't that just give you the worst feeling when the mower hits something like that? Glad it didn't cause any serious damage. (Although the tomato cage does look a little worse for wear.)
ReplyDeleteLooks like art to me. :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can hang it as a sign to all other metal detritus hiding on the grounds...
BTW, I'm rehanging Jim Sullivan's painting of us. I had it down for a while but now have a good place for it.
It does look art-y! I'm so glad the mower motor has some sort of stop thing, so it didn't burn out. The blade is looking pretty rough though. I didn't know what it was, so I tried to re-start it several times with no luck before I realized I was going to have to operate.
