Befores and Almost Afters

I was looking forward to showing you the befores and afters of the goat shed and the stove. And I can, sort of.  The goat shed has undergone a rehab and soon there will be goats in it.  The stove has been delivered, and soon will be connected.  So this is more like a middle day. A waypoint on the way to after.

The goat shed before:
The goat shed almost after.  It's got real walls now, protection enough from rain and snow, big thanks to Melanie and Sue who came over to help (Melanie writes the blog Our Wee Farm and Sue writes the blog e-i-e-i-omg, both local to upstate NY).
The stove before.  You can see the fashionable steel wool for keeping mousies away (just caused them to come up through the burners instead). And in the open drawer you can see the oven burner hanging down.

The stove almost after.  Maybe the old stove wanted to interview his replacement.
What really happened is that even though I called on Friday to confirm that Sears would do the hook-up, someone gave me incorrect information.  And it's impossible to get a licensed plumber on short notice on Sunday.  So here we all sit.  Me dreaming for a few more days about roast beast and fresh bread, and one stove giving the cold shoulder to the other.

It's a good day for middles.  Wonderful weekend weather, no time-sucking plans.  I'm in a good mood.  The afters will come soon enough.

  1. WOOHOO!! In the door's gotta be more than half the battle! You just google some good food tomorrow at lunchtime and make she you have something to pop in that oven that smells yummy all night long.

And I can't wait to see goat pictures!! Can you just bring them in your truck??
