When I came home from work last night, the house was 54 degrees inside and 41 degrees outside. There's a saying, much older than me, that wood heats you three times, and so this wood has, even though I bought it pre-cut and split last winter. First, I put it into the basement this January. Then, I took it out of the basement this June, after it had molded for 6 months, and stacked it in the woodshed. And last night I brought some into the house. After bringing it in I was warm enough to put off starting the fire for a bit. But it wasn't long before this baby was shaking off the fall chill as September draws to a close.
